LOEWS PHILADELPHIA HOTEL RENOVATION
PHILADELPHIA, PA
RJTR led and completed the design of a major renovation at the historic PSFS Building currently known as Loews Philadelphia Hotel.  The renovation included the alteration and historical restoration of the ground floor exterior skin, a relocated hotel entry canopy, the addition of a new 6,000 SF street-front Restaurant (called Bank and Bourbon), a complete transformation of the hotel lobby, an addition of meeting spaces distributed throughout the hotel, and updated administrative offices.  The PSFS Building was built in 1932 and is widely considered to be the first International Style skyscraper in the United States.  The design team at RJTR successfully navigated the City of Philadelphia's Historic Design Commission and Building Department to gain approval of the exterior skin improvements and building changes. The project finished on time and under budget. This project represents the fifth Loews Hotel project completed by RJTR since 2010. (Continued on next page)
